Penciling in the Fall

Happy Summer Kitsap House! It’s been so fun to connect with you all out and about in our neighborhoods for JOIN IN events. Check out Kitsap House social media if you want to see what our community has been up to… brewery hangs, nature walks, backyard VBS, and more!

I recorded this video to let you know some ways to anticipate how we hope to meet together in the Fall. Here at Kitsap House, we are a church for our neighbors, which means that we care about what is happening all week long!

We plan to continue integrating our neighborhood life and worship life following the pattern of how Jesus gathered with people:

  1. The Crowd — Sundays, 10am at the Yacht Club. To remember the story of God, share communion, and prayer

  2. The 70 — “Tables” for Family, Worship, Outreach, and Marketplace. Quarterly gatherings (dates TBD) for those who are with our neighbors by serving: 1) Family (teachers, parents, grandparents), 2) Worship (our Sunday morning teams), 3) Outreach (local partnerships, volunteering, and civic engagement), and 4) Marketplace (working 9-5ish).

  3. The 12 — Monday night, "Practicing the Way" at 703. Short-term small groups for intentional learning the Ways of Jesus. Other groups will be Alpha, Mom’s Bible Study, and 703 Residents.

  4. The 3 — Developing in the future! The close friendships of accountability like Peter, James and John.

This way that Jesus lived is how we want to grow and practice the way of Jesus. It’s not just about how we as church-goers spend time together; it’s just as much about how we spend time in relationships with our neighbors. Who we spend our time with day-to-day matters to God and it’s part of practicing the way of Jesus!

Our hope is that this new language can help us intentionally build rhythms of life with Jesus and each other. In the meantime, I hope to see you soon on Sunday mornings throughout August. I’d also love for you to add Sunday September 11th at 9am to your calendars. That morning before worship, we will have a congregational meeting to launch us into the Fall. Bring your questions and your appetite, because donuts and coffee will be provided.

It finally feels like summer in the PNW so enjoy that sunshine! This Sunday, we’ll be doing that together at Bert and Cathy’s - you’re welcome to JOIN IN

-Pastor Megan
