There’s an hour just for you!

This morning I received such tremendous comfort and relief praying in the prayer room. It was a busy day the day before – fighting back a lingering cold, wondering if I was really going to make the Christmas cookies, cleaning out the guest room, all-the-meetings– you know, typical pre-Christmas busyness.

But that one hour. Such a deep exhale. Such deep reconnection to God, for whom this entire holiday exists.

Do you have an hour you could set aside for an exhale, a chance to listen to God, to pray for your family and neighbors? It was a special relief to me that on the “wailing wall” (a chain of prayers people wrote on a Sunday morning, of the things they’re waiting for) that so many people echoed my exact prayers with different names – for “prodigal” family members, for siblings they wish shared their faith, for neighbors who are grieving.

Kneeling on the prayer bench with a set of those specific names in my hand in someone else’s handwriting, I was relieved to find that we’re carrying this desire together – for our friends and family to recognize Jesus as King and to know the freedom, the forgiveness, the JOY that life with God that he’s made available now and forever.

So… I know it’s busy. But if you can jump in, this isn’t for me – or even exclusively for you– it’s also a way to serve the newborn King who is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, and to share with him in his ministry to our community.
